Thank you 100 Women Who Care Mississauga for Supporting Young Adult Group Programs!

We are pleased to acknowledge a $9000 donation from 100 Women Who Care Mississauga, which will be directed to Group Programs for the 18 to 25 age group.

The focus of these groups is to support young adults with their mental health struggles. Group Programs allow for a group of youth and young adults to come together to share with their peers, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and receive guidance to look ahead to a healthier future.

COVID-19 has negatively impacted young people in our community and we continue to witness a surge in the need for mental health care among this age group. These group programs help to bridge the gap in service provision as we continue to face long wait-list times.

100 Women Who Care Mississauga brings together 100 women in the city, who are passionate about local community causes and who are committed to community service, for one hour three times per year. Members nominate local charities which have an immediate need, they are vetted according to the chapter’s guidelines, and three are randomly chosen to present at a Giving Circle meeting. Post these presentations, members vote to determine who will receive the collective donation. Then, each member makes a $100 donation to the charity with the most votes.

At the December 2021 Giving Circle Meeting, the membership voted overwhelmingly for EveryMind Mental Health Services.

On behalf of the organisation, Christine Hull said, “We were so moved by Andrea’s presentation and we understand the deep need for funding (for programs) to help our younger adults in Mississauga. Together, we can make a huge, positive impact for our community.”

Thank you, ladies, for supporting your community and bringing hope to those who need it most!
